Hayley Atwell (Isabel) is known as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for the recent Mission: Impossible films. Owens: "Hayley's ability to combine vulnerability with strength made her the perfect person to play Isabel."

Lily Nichol (the Hero) makes her video game debut in Fable, after I Hate Suzie, Lockwood & Co. and Renegade Nell. Ukweli Roach (the Hero) is known for Humans and Big Mood, and has appeared in Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Horizon Forbidden West. Owens: both had "great range paired with natural charisma."

Matt King (Humphry) is best known as Super Hans in Peep Show. Owens: "Matt brought a lot of Super Hans' dark charm to his performance as Humphry."

In the Developer_Direct of Jan 22, 2026, Playground says "you can talk to every single one of them in fully voiced conversations", between its developers and footage of the Hero talking with villagers, who answer in their own voices: "How can I help you, boss?", "Oh, it's you. You're awful," "You're a legend." Dan Greer, Lead Game Designer, wrote that "all of our NPCs are fully voiced. We cast around 100 actors to voice our Living Population alone" (Xbox Wire, Jun 10, 2026). TechRadar reported that Playground confirmed over 150,000 lines of dialogue, with "multiple studios set up running in parallel for over 1000 hours just this year alone, just recording VO" (TechRadar). A British cast on purpose

Ralph Fulton, GM and Game Director, said the original games' cast list was "a who's-who" and that Playground felt "we need to go and do something similar"; its humor draws on British comedies such as Peep Show and The IT Crowd, and "some of" the actors from those shows "are in our game" (Xbox Wire, Jan 22, 2026). Matt King (Peep Show) and Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) are two of them. Fable is fully voiced in English, Brazilian Portuguese, German and Latin American Spanish, with text only in six more languages (official FAQ).
