Which Game Pass tiers

The FAQ says "Fable will be available to play day one via Game Pass Ultimate", and the Xbox Store adds PC Game Pass (official FAQ, Xbox Store). Neither names the lower console tiers, so as of Oct 21, 2026 the game is confirmed only for Ultimate (console, PC and cloud) and PC Game Pass (PC). Fable is not on PlayStation Plus: on PlayStation 5 it is bought (Platforms).

Early Access and the Premium Upgrade

Game Pass includes the Standard game, which starts on Feb 23, 2027. Early Access, from Feb 18, 2027, comes with the Premium Edition, the Collector's Edition and the Premium Upgrade. Xbox sells the Premium Upgrade (Xbox Store id 9P3RVJN6VXJ1) to Standard owners and to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members; it brings Early Access, the Premium Edition Content Pack, the digital artbook and soundtrack, and the Order of the Hero expansion when it comes (Xbox, official site). Its contents and the editions' prices are on Editions and Pre-order Bonuses.

The upgrade belongs to the Game Pass copy only while the membership lasts: if the membership ends, the game must be bought to keep playing, which is how Game Pass add-ons work on the Xbox Store.

Cloud, pre-install and Play Anywhere

With Game Pass Ultimate, Fable can be streamed through Xbox Cloud, which Xbox lists among its platforms (Xbox Wire). Xbox's game page offers Game Pass members a pre-install, with no start date announced as of Oct 21, 2026 (Xbox). Fable supports Xbox Play Anywhere: "Play it on both console and PC at no additional cost" (Xbox Wire), with saves shared between them. The launch dates are on Release Date and Time.
